Is Wordpress a good system for my website?
If you just ask yourself this question, you won't find any answer.
There are multiple answers.
If you want a fast website, with a cool finish and quickly and cheaply, you don't have many options. Either you use Wordpress or you use online portals, such as wix.com or capempresasenseweb.cat, which make your website for you. Any other option that a programmer and / or designer needs will not be able to compete on price and time.
If you want a website simply for being on the internet, with no other intention, we recommend using wordpress. There are millions of templates, for a price less than € 50, that by changing images and colors you will get a visually attractive website.
Obviously nothing is easy. If you choose a very visual template, you should have quality images, otherwise it will make your website fall to the ground. But this would also happen with any other system.
Wordpress doesn't do magic either, if you want to do SEO on your website, use languages or any other customization, you will have to install paid or free plugins (wordpress add-ons), but they can get old and cause problems in the future. Although it will always be much cheaper than made to measure. P>
Even Wordpress has plugins to make an online store. There is a learning curve with these plugins but it is getting easier.
One of the drawbacks (less and less) is that Wordpress is a very popular system and is an easy target for all attacks. Therefore, you are cannon fodder for hackers. You always have to try to keep your Wordpress updated. But this has a risk. If you update the wordpress, you could damage the theme that you installed (if the creator of the theme does not have it updated) or if you update the theme, you may lose some of the changes that you have made, if you have not done it correctly.
The summary would be, if you don't want to spend a lot of money and you want something simple and effective, Wordpress. If you want a bigger website, with a lot of customization or you want to do something very different from the rest, then you should opt for custom programming.
If you are a physical company that starts on the internet, and you are still not sure how everything will go, yes, from programem.com we recommend you use Wordpress (or a similar product) for the first steps. Over time, or when you have everything at hand, consider whether to continue with Wordpress or move on to a more personalized or custom-made product.
